A quartz movement keeps time with a vibrating crystal and needs a battery change every two to three years. Among them are date models, multifunction models with extra displays and chronographs. About 8 in 10 come on stainless steel bracelets, the others on genuine leather, silicone, mesh, stretch ring, polycarbonate or titanium bands. About 7 in 10 are rated 3 ATM and the rest 5 ATM; neither rating is meant for swimming.
